hey everyone MALIK MURSALEEN here today I'm gonna be unboxing and reviewing for you all this 2-pack from vaunt of LED camping lanterns they did send me this product review but any opinion expressed this video is strictly my own if you are interested in this product the link to it will be my video description below please go ahead check it out and do your shopping from there if the brand vaunt rings a bell it's because I just reviewed the other day a tactical LED flashlight from them and I was really impressed given its price point all the nice features it has and I put it through some pretty rigorous tests in water so be sure to check out that video as well today again we're going to be featuring this 2-pack of LED camping lanterns from them so they're collapsible they're lightweight they're built with military-grade materials 360-degree elimination it says super-bright EDs right there so let's go ahead now and open it up here are all the package contents we have your two lanterns they give us the included batteries which is super nice I love when companies do that so each Lantern is powered by three double A batteries which they give you right here so you have six double A batteries total and then they give you this little guide for installing the batteries want to point out really quick that the lanterns themselves are IP 44 rated which means they're rated against splashes of water so if it did get wet outside cuz you know you're raining when it's camping it should be fine just do not submerge these in water or like shoot high-pressure jets at these of water as that could penetrate the product and ruin it but it is IP 44 rated which is nice that they have that rating on this product again so it is gonna be pretty durable outside it's also rating that it can survive a 10-foot drop so we'll be sure to go outside and try that in a minute but you could just see how cool they look right here nice handle it's easy to use as well with this you can see how it's gonna give you a 360 glow and light for you love how it slides up and down really a neat compact thing right here we're going to twist off the base so hopefully now we can install the batteries so we can see the three slots right there so let's go ahead and get the batteries installed Light now the batteries for both lanterns have now been installed let's go ahead now and power them up right here look at that really cool guys really impressed both they have their lights on they're pretty bright we're gonna go ahead now and turn off my studio lights to see how they shine but they really do have that 360-degree light for you so and I love the features that they just go on and off when you pull it up so once you hit that certain point they go off and back on so now let's go ahead and turn all the lights off I have all the lights off now let's go ahead and open one up oh yeah that's perfect it's really bright to look directly at it so I don't recommend doing that but you can see its lighting me up just fine this is perfect like I said if you're gonna go camping and you just need a little light around your tent around the campfire that sort of thing and this is awesome a great travel companion it's so light so easy to use really impressed with that just love its form factors and everything so let's light up both now together now you have obviously twice the amount of light so that's really neat these are so awesome I'm really impressed with them hopefully that helps you kind of see the light for yourself to get a feel for it now it's time to go test that drop rating I'm think in the easiest and safest way for me to drop it from that height is I'm just gonna throw it up in the air so we're gonna go outside now and we're gonna throw this up in the air and see if it will still work after surviving at least a 10-foot drop back to earth first up we're gonna chuck it just like this up in the air so here's the lantern from the first test you can see everything looks fine on the outside there's a little chip here but what you instantly notice when you pick it up there is a rattle and something's amiss on the inside and how I that is because I can see that right now the lantern is still on it shouldn't even be on right here but it is on all the way now what's funny is the mechanism still works just fine which is great but for some reason it is not turning off in there so whatever loose definitely broke that out now my um tests aren't scientific I don't recommend tossing this like a baseball softball or football onto the hard surface of the ground so my test was just me trying to see like would that work you know it's at about ten feet you know how durable is this so technically this still works just fine you just can't shut it off so you have to take the batteries out but that led me to try the second test so I actually decided to go on my rooftop I do not recommend doing this at home please don't try it that is the purpose of this video that I do something stupid so you don't have to went up to the top of my roof and decided I'll drop it off that's probably about 10 maybe 13 or so feet from where I was so I went ahead and that's what we're gonna watch in this next video here is the ten-foot roof drop test so after dropping it from my rooftop just like this nothing was wrong nothing broke nothing chipped the light still worked nothing was shaking on the inside everything was great so they are telling the truth when it can survive a ten foot drop again I don't know what it was with my throw of why that seems to have broke something maybe just perfectly landed on the wrong spot I don't really know but these are durable so that led me to my third and final test which we're gonna watch right now here's the test again from about ten feet with the light open and working just fine so you can see from that video when I went to pick the lantern up I knew it wasn't a good sign when I saw this big chip and gash missing on the back I was able to recover the piece right here and what's funny is it cracked it all the way down the side but this actually works fine so with this test, the lantern itself works there's nothing wrong on the inside nothing or broken or whatnot like the first test I did and the lantern still shuts on and off the only issue, we have now is it has a cosmetic defect on the side right here where the plastic material has chipped overall I gotta say I am super impressed with this product in most cases you are not going to throw it into the air you're not gonna drop it off a roof or from a ten-foot fall even if you did hopefully, it lands like this one and everything still works just fine and you might suffer a couple of cosmetic bumps and bruises heck even the one that I loved in the air it still works right so as long as you have enough batteries you could still use this on your trip your hike whatever happens if for some reason this would suffer some internal damage on your jury so I'm really happy with the Vaughan products are given their price point they are a great value and they're durable enough be sure to check out my tactical LED flashlight review from them as well too so the link to this will be in my video description below we can go and hit that like button for me subscribe to my channel I can't do this without you guys being here I have new
